Sixty Nine By Brooklyn Express

Sixty Nine By Brooklyn Express is a disco loop track that was released in 1981. Brooklyn Express members were: Began Cekic, Fred Zarr and Tee Scott. It uses a loop from Spank by Jimmy "Bo" Horne and builds from this into a new track.

D.J. Reception

Tee Scott played this because it was his own record. Larry Levan and Tony Humphries also played it. played this at Paradise Garage. Sixty Nine also cut across the scenes in Chicago. It's in Ron Hardy and WBMX mixes that have recordings.

How It Was Made

Sixty Nine by Brooklyn Express was not made with samplers. The Fairlight CMI existed but was really expensive and only had a small amount of memory. Instead of sampling, they created tape loop of the groove from Jimmy "Bo" Horne's track Spank. They recorded this loop onto multitrack tape and then played on top of it. This then allowed them to live mix from the multitrack tape to create the final version.

The B Side

Both sides on the release were club bangers. The B side was Change Position (88).
